This update is over 30 days old.

There are two assistance programs that started accepting applications today, July 1st, and we wanted to make sure you had this important information.

Rental assistance is now available for those facing economic hardship due to COVID-19. Assistance for up to three months of rent is available to eligible residents of Cuyahoga County. To qualify, an applicant’s household income must be below 120% AMI. For example, a family of 4 cannot make more than $90,000 a year and qualify.

Residents can apply and submit required documents at www.neorenthelp.org. For questions, please call 833-377-RENT (7368). No applications can be taken over the phone.

Applicants must submit all documentation before their application will be processed. Applications will be considered partly based on order in which they are submitted, so it is important to have all required documents before applying. Applicants must provide:

  • Verification of COVID-19 related hardship
  • Verification of household members (Social Security cards for all and photo identification for those over 18 years of age)
  • Proof of income
  • Lease agreement
  • Most recent utility bill (for those also applying for utility assistance)

The HEAP Summer Crisis Program also starts today, July 1st. The program helps eligible Ohioans pay an electric bill, purchase an air conditioning unit or fan, or pay for central air conditioning repairs.

As you may know, Cleveland Pandemic Response is not an official service provider, but a group of volunteers trying to connect people and donations from all over the greater Cleveland area. We are unable to provide direct financial assistance, but are happy to recommend helpful resources to you!

If you would like us to provide further resources, need specific items, or have an item, skill, or knowledge to share, please post in our Community Hub! Please do not hesitate to reach out to the CPR Match Coordination Team at match@cprcle.org if you have any questions.
